About the Exhibit
Dear New College Students,
Your first year at the University of Toronto will be filled with opportunities that will help you grow socially and intellectually in ways you have never imagined before. Take advantage of these years to explore your academic interests, meet new people, and create a network of friends and academic supports that will assist you through some of these difficult times. Because there will be some difficult times. And you will be challenged and stretched beyond your own limits. It might seem a bit frightening at first as your feelings may be amplified by experiences of homesickness. But we want you to know that we have all shared your feelings at one point or another.
At D. G. Ivey Library at New College, we have put together an exhibit where some of your own Professors, Instructors and peers have shared their own experiences as first year students. As you explore the exhibit (physically or virtually), I hope you will come to realize that you are never alone on this learning journey.
We look forward to seeing you at the library.
Have a wonderful academic year!
