Description and duties:

The DG Ivey Library at New College is looking for students to work in the library during the 2019 Summer academic session. The DG Ivey Library is home to collections that support the Women and Gender Studies Institute, and programs in Caribbean Studies, African Studies, Equity Studies, and Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health.

Job duties include assisting patrons in-person and on the telephone, circulating books, assisting with general library operations such as processing new books and updating websites, helping patrons to use computers, copiers, scanners and other library facilities and working on a variety of special projects.


This job is open to University of Toronto Students. Preference will be given to students enrolled in one of New College’s programs, the Faculty of Information who are entering their first year of study, or students enrolled in the Women and Gender Studies institute. Strong service orientation required. Written and oral communication in English essential. Attention to detail and accuracy essential. Must demonstrate good work performance: attendance and punctuality required.
