On September 12, 2017, the D. G. Ivey Library at New College will welcome the general public for the official launch of a unique and rare collection of Urban Agriculture literature. This collection was the legacy of the late urban agriculture pioneer Jac Smit and includes diverse literature from around the world.

We invite you to peruse the collection, grab some refreshments and then join us for a tour of urban agriculture initiatives throughout the St. George campus. The tour will take about two hours and include:

  • the Sky Garden
  • the Anthropology garden and greenhouse
  • the Aquaponic demo system
  • the Sidney Smith Intensive garden
  • the Huron-Sussex Community garden
  • the University of Toronto Student Union garden
  • the gardens at Hart House
