So it’s that time of year again: the time when everything is due, study can no longer be procrastinated and stress levels are generally high. I don’t know about you, but the only thing that gets me through this time of the year is the music I listen to (well, that and coffee). Whether I’m listening to music while writing essays, dancing to it while trying to forget about them or practicing it to calm my nerves, it is always present. I know that I’m not the only one, so I decided to enlist some of my friends around New College to see what is on their study playlists right now! Let’s see what they said…

As for me—my favorite songs for studying are those that breathe optimism. In particular, Blue Skies by Noah and The Whale, Stay Gold by First Aid Kit, Kintsukori by Hey Rosetta and Time is Dancing by Ben Howard. Also, I am a big fan of fantastically cheesy pop/rock anthems from the ‘80s when I need a pick-me-up. My favorite for this is, hands down, A-Ha’s Take On Me.

I hope some of these songs make it to your study playlist! What are some of your favourite study songs, or are you more of the quiet study type? Let us know on our Facebook page and best of luck during the exam season!
