Event Description
International Women's Day, March 8–is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The theme for 2025 is “accelerating action”. Join Hart House and the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education for Accelerating Action on Women’s Health and Wellness, a discussion profiling programs that centre on women’s health and well-being on Friday, March 7 at 12 PM.
Panelists will engage with attendees in conversation on:
> who is engaging in sport, physical activity and wellness today;
> what facilitates access; and
> what innovative and effective spaces look like.
Examples featured will include the impacts of a Black women’s run club, gender focused strength and fitness programs, support for older women experiencing breast cancer, and the importance of positioning restorative practices and community building, in our sport, physical activity and wellness spaces.
