How to Pay Your Deposit

The fee can be paid online (preferred) at the time of submitting the residence application, or a money order or bank draft in Canadian funds payable to the University of Toronto can be sent to us directly. Your completed application cannot be processed until we have received your application fee. If paying my money order or bank draft please send a copy of your recipt by email to new.residence@utoronto.ca.

How to Pay Your Residence Fees

You can make payments to your ROSI account using online/telephone banking, or directly at any financial institution in Canada. To do so, you will need your University of Toronto account number which is displayed on the top right-hand corner of your ROSI invoice and consists of the first 5 characters of your surname + 0 (zero) + your student number.

You may also pay at a bank machine or a teller. For this method, you will need to bring with you a copy of your invoice which can be printed from ROSI.

Please allow 5 business days for payments to be processed and posted to your ROSI account.

You cannot pay your residence fees by credit card.

Payments from Outside of Canada

All payments must be accompanied by the student’s name, student number and (if possible) his or her program of study.

Travelex Bank to Bank Transfer: This option allows students to pay the Canadian dollar payment in the currency of choice at a local bank at a competitive exchange rate and with NO transaction charges from Travelex or the University of Toronto. Money Order or Bank Draft Payments: You can also make a payment by sending a bank draft or money order in Canadian funds, payable to the ‘University of Toronto’. Mail or courier payment to Student Accounts, University of Toronto, 215 Huron Street, 3rd Floor, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5S 1A2.

Traditional Bank to Bank (Wire) Transfer: Transfer funds from your bank to the University of Toronto bank account at the Royal Bank of Canada, 648 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M5S 2H7; Transit & Account #05802 0000018, FI #003. The Swift/Sort Code is ROYCCAT2. You will need to bring the Bank Wire Information sheet with you to the bank. Please note that with this method there will be a charge by your home bank; as well, there will be a $10.00 Royal Bank fee that will be deducted from the amount of the payment.

Once you have sent the wire transfer, please forward a copy of the transaction or any identifying information the Office of Residence and Student Life AND Student Accounts. This step is necessary to ensure that your funds are applied to your student account.
