The New College Registrar’s Office is the centre for information and advice of all kinds.
From admission to graduation, students are encouraged to make it their home base by asking any and all questions and concerns to the friendly and knowledgeable registrarial staff. Individual appointments are readily available. The range of counselling support offered is very wide, including:
- course and program selection
- academic questions and problems
- financial problems and planning, referral to sources of aid
- career information and guidance
- preparation for professional schools (e.g. medicine, law, education)
- degree requirements
- the Faculty grading scheme
- learning and study skills (e.g. time management, coping with exam anxiety)
- adjustment to university
- personal problems
- assistance with situations affecting academic work, e.g. illness, family problems; appeals or petitions for consideration
- transfer credit and study elsewhere
- informed referral to other sources of advice
