Congratulations to our NEWest New College grads!
At your convocation, take in all the formality: the robes, the Latin, the gonfalon and the feather bearer. This is academia at its finest. But please also remember that it is a celebration: of your dedication, your resilience, and how much you have grown to get here.
Your journey went beyond classrooms and assignments. It included friendships, conversations and debates, late nights and perhaps even early mornings. There were moments of uncertainty, and moments when things finally clicked. These experiences matter as much as what you learned in the classroom, and will stay with you long after today.
As you leave New College, you may not know exactly what comes next. That’s perfectly fine! Be open to new experiences, keep asking questions, and trust in your ability to figure things out.
Although your time here as a student is ending, your connection to the College is not. You are now part of a community of alums spread across Canada and around the world. Stay in touch, stay involved, and let us know where your path takes you.
On behalf of the New College community, congratulations class of 2026! Enjoy this day, celebrate with the people who helped you get here, and know that we are cheering you on for whatever comes next.
