To the Class of 2023,

Congratulations on this momentous day!

Convocation is an extraordinary time in every U of T student’s experience. As you celebrate your achievements with your loved ones, know that your hard work and dedication have paid off. You have worked tirelessly in your courses and classes, brought energy and enthusiasm to student clubs and groups, and built a community at New College with classmates and friends. While this year has had its challenges, you have persevered through a unique undergraduate experience. We commend your resilience and strength in the face of uncertainty and adversity.

In this new chapter of your life, you may face changes and unfamiliarity in this time of transition. We hope you will always continue to look for opportunities to learn and grow, stay curious, and ask questions. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. Remember that failure is not the opposite of success but a necessary step towards it. And most importantly, stay true to yourself and your values.

The world is waiting for you, and we know that you will go out and make a positive impact. The future is promising because you will be the leaders moving us forward. Now, as a member of our exceptional alumni community, we hope you will find ways to stay connected with New College. We will always be here to welcome you home.

We wish you the absolute best and hope this is a memorable day for you and all who supported you during your journey. Once again, on behalf of New College faculty, staff, and community, congratulations, Class of 2023!
