Ubuntu – African Studies Award
Deadline to apply: February 10, 2024
This award is available once per academic year to one or more full-time or part-time undergraduate students enrolled in the African Studies Specialist or Major programs on the basis of financial need and academic merit. Preference will be given to students from equity-deserving communities.
African Studies Community Leadership and Citizenship Award
Deadline to apply: April 13, 2024
This award is available once per academic year to one or more full-time undergraduate students entering their graduating year of an African Studies program. Preference will be given to students in the Specialist or Major programs. Students must demonstrate leadership and service to the community, have been active and made an impact in student experience, the African Studies community, the African Studies Course Union and/or the wider community. Academic merit will be considered.
African Studies Excellence Award
For 2023 – 2024, it will be awarded in early fall 2024
Awardees will receive an award letter, monetary award and a plaque of recognition.
