IGNITE: Academic Orientation
When: Saturday, September 9th, 2023
Eligibility: ALL incoming first year and transfer students at New College!
A little bit nervous about what it’s like being a student at U of T? IGNITE Academic Orientation is the program for you! IGNITE is a FREE program that is focused on academic preparation and transition.
Take this opportunity to speak to professors and other academic professionals at the University of Toronto and learn strategies for note taking, studying, and time management. This program will give you an introduction to academic life at U of T and set you up for success going into your first week of classes!
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Main topics that will be covered include:
- How to prepare for and make the most of lectures and assignments
- What New College services can do to support your academics
- What will be expected of you in different courses/disciplines and how to time manage
- Key dates/times during the term

Note that IGNITE Academic Orientation will be in-person and require walking between classrooms. Please note that August 14th is the deadline to notify us to discuss accessibility in order for us to best serve you.
