International Welcome: August 31 – September 1, 2023
Eligibility: Any international (coming to University of Toronto from outside of Canada) student that is also a New College student. International Foundation Program (IFP) students are also welcome!

Students interested in joining us for New Journeys with early New College residence move-in must register by 11:59PM EST on Sunday, August 20.
Please note that August 14th is the deadline to notify us to discuss accessibility in order for us to best serve you. This timeline will best enable us to work together on a plan to support engagement in the event. If you have questions, please email new.studentlife@utoronto.ca
Fees: All New Journeys Tickets are $80. If you are a New College resident who is moving in early, you will be automatically charged $80 on your ACORN account (plus applicable move-in costs). If you are an off-campus student (not living in a New College residence) you will need to bring $80 in cash to registration.
New Journeys: International Welcome is a program specifically designed to meet incoming International Foundations Program and New College international students’ unique needs and concerns. By attending New Journeys, students will have the opportunity to get a head start as they enter this exciting new chapter of their lives at New College and the University of Toronto.
This program strives to prepare students for what is ahead, connect students to meaningful communities and resources, and support students through this academic and personal transition.
This program will be occurring in person with online resources available for reference.

New College Residence
Are you a New College Residence student for the 2023/2024 year? If you have a confirmed allocation of a New College Residence Room in Wilson Hall, Wetmore Hall or 45 Willcocks Ave you have the opportunity to move-in early to residence on Wednesday, August 30th with your registration to New Journeys. This will require an additional cost to the $80 that will be charged to your ACORN account if you would like to move in early.
New College Residence students (Wetmore Hall, Wilson Hall, 45 Willcocks) have the opportunity to move in early to residence with their registration to New Journeys. This will require an additional cost of $31.70/night (total with New Journeys ticket = $175) that will be charged to your ACORN account if you would like to move in early.
Please note there is no flexibility on the early move-in date (August 30). Students who indicated that they will like to move in early in the registration form will be emailed with the details.
Workshops
Please note if you are unable to attend New Journeys, the Centre for International Experience (CIE) will be holding weekly live “Immigration Documents and Legal Status Orientation Q&As” from mid-July to mid-September. Please note that all sessions will be held in EST. You can find recordings related to important information for incoming international students (found on the Entering Canada page).
